Biofield tuning is a holistic sound therapy that can focus on the human biofield, which is a toroidal energy field that hypothetically surrounds and permeates the body. It was developed by Eileen Day McKusick, who coined the term "biofield" to describe this field of energy.

Biofield tuning involves sound and vibration with tuning forks to detect and harmonize imbalances in the biofield. The tuning forks have a design to emit specific frequencies that can resonate with different parts of the biofield and the physical body. A practitioner can use specific tuning forks to scan the biofield, listening for any dissonance or distortion in the sound produced by the forks. These distortions are believed to correlate with areas of energetic congestion or imbalance.

When an imbalance is detected in the sound or vibration, the practitioner can use the tuning forks to create a "feedback loop" within the client's biofield. When introducing the appropriate frequencies, it is believed that the biofield can be “tuned”, aligned, and brought into harmony and balance. This process can be offered by a practitioner placing the tuning forks on or near the body, or by moving them through the energy field which can be approximately 6 feet from the body. The goal of biofield tuning is to address physical, emotional, and energetic imbalances within the body.

It is believed that these imbalances can contribute to various health issues, and by restoring balance to the biofield, the body's natural electrical mechanisms can be activated. It's noteworthy that while many individuals report positive experiences with biofield tuning, the scientific evidence supporting its effectiveness is still being determined. As with any alternative therapy, it's recommended to consult with a qualified healthcare professional and consider it as a complementary approach rather than a substitute for conventional medical care.
